Azerbaijan continues to endure an intense heatwave, with temperatures reaching as high as 41°C in several regions.
According to the National Hydrometeorological Service, temperatures in Baku and across the Absheron Peninsula are ranging between 35°C and 40°C. In mountainous areas, temperatures remain slightly lower, fluctuating between 30°C and 33°C. Meanwhile, lowland regions and the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic are experiencing extreme heat, with highs reaching 37°C to 41°C.
Forecasters had earlier warned that the heatwave would persist across the country until at least August 8.
On the Absheron Peninsula, including coastal areas, prevailing southeasterly winds are expected to increase humidity levels, contributing to particularly stifling and sultry conditions.
