Ganja hosts opening ceremony of “Millennium Team” Cadet European Cup 2026

The opening ceremony of the “Millennium Team” Cadet European Cup 2026 was held in Ganja.

Addressing the event, Patrice Rognon, Sport Commissioner of the European Judo Union (EJU), underscored the importance of the tournament, noting that such competitions contribute significantly to youth development.

In his remarks, Natig Baghirov, Advisor to the President of the Azerbaijan Judo Federation, emphasized that the care and attention shown by the Azerbaijani state to the sports sector have led to the country’s numerous achievements in sports. According to him, Azerbaijan is already recognized as a trusted partner in the international sporting arena, regularly hosting prestigious competitions.

Following the opening remarks, the event continued with an artistic program.

The competition brings together 269 judokas from 10 countries, competing in 16 weight classes.

The tournament will conclude on April 5.
