A chess pavilion was inaugurated in Tašmajdan Park in Belgrade, following an initiative by the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Serbia and with financial support from AzVirt.

The ceremony was attended by Marko Kešelj, State Secretary at the Ministry of Sports of Serbia, Andrija Jorgić, President of the Chess Federation of Serbia, and embassy officials.

Speakers highlighted the significance of the pavilion’s location, just steps away from the monument to National Leader Heydar Aliyev in the park. They noted that bilateral relations have reached the highest level of strategic partnership and described President Ilham Aliyev’s February visit to Belgrade as a major milestone in ties between the two countries.

A blitz chess tournament was held at the pavilion following its official opening.
