Azerbaijani delegation joins FAO event in Hungary
An Azerbaijani delegation is participating in the 16th International LANDNET Workshop, organized by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations, held in Budapest, Hungary, from May 28–30.
The workshop, themed “Land Consolidation from European and Global Perspectives,” focuses on sharing best practices and experiences in land consolidation among European nations, while also incorporating global insights. Key topics on the agenda include capacity development in land consolidation and land banking; the use of land consolidation and banking as tools to combat climate change and land degradation; ensuring the participation of landowners, farmers, and local communities in land consolidation processes; promoting women’s land rights and tenure security; and developing and regulating agricultural land markets.
On the sidelines of the event, the Azerbaijani delegation is holding discussions with international experts and representatives from countries with advanced land consolidation programs, exploring opportunities for collaboration and knowledge exchange.
