The World Bank Group and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) have commended the recent reforms in Azerbaijan designed to enhance employment opportunities for women, describing them as exemplary.
The international financial institutions highlighted Azerbaijan’s significant progress in promoting gender equality in the labor market, noting that previously existing restrictions on women's employment across many professional fields (railway engineers, bus drivers, etc.) have now been eliminated through relevant legislative amendments.
Thanks to these reforms, employment prospects for women—especially in the railway sector—have expanded considerably.
