He noted that six agreements have been signed to date between Azerbaijan and Uruguay, covering areas such as economy, customs, culture, and other sectors, and stressed the significant potential to expand economic and trade relations. He also emphasized the importance of mutual visits and meetings in strengthening bilateral cooperation.
In a meeting with Uruguayan Minister of Industry, Energy, and Mining Fernanda Cardona, Deputy Minister Aliyev noted that Uruguayan companies have considerable potential for investing in Azerbaijan. “There are broad opportunities for cooperation in renewable energy, green technologies, infrastructure, transportation, and industry. The Alat Free Economic Zone offers extensive prospects for foreign investors, including Uruguayan stakeholders,” he added.
Subsequently, Deputy Minister Aliyev met with Cecilia San Román, President of Uruguay’s National Administration of Fuels, Alcohol, and Ports (ANCAP). The discussions focused on cooperation prospects in the energy sector, the exchange of expertise, and the implementation of joint projects, particularly in green energy and modern technologies.
