Elnur Aliyev, the First Deputy Minister of Economy, has met with a delegation of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations led by its Chair Betsy Berns Korn.
The meeting provided an overview of Azerbaijan’s economic performance, business and investment potential, and the strategic energy and transport corridors initiated or joined by the country.
Aliyev noted that by leveraging its strategic geographical position, Azerbaijan offers a highly favorable business environment through specialized economic zones, tax incentives, and a modernized customs system. Priority investment sectors include renewable energy, digitalization, innovation, green technologies, transport-transit logistics, and high-value-added manufacturing.
The discussion highlighted Azerbaijan’s role as a reliable partner in ensuring regional energy security. The country’s strategic role in connecting the Caspian region to international markets through a diversified system of oil and gas pipelines opens extensive opportunities for enhancing regional connectivity.
Thanks to large-scale investments in modern infrastructure, Azerbaijan has transformed into a critical transport and logistics hub in Eurasia. The Baku-Tbilisi-Kars (BTK) railway, the Baku International Sea Trade Port, the Baku Shipyard, modern logistics and air cargo terminals, nine international airports, and a revamped highway network further solidify the country's role in regional and global supply chains.
The meeting also reviewed the current state of Azerbaijan’s economic relations with Israel and the United States, with a focus on exploring new avenues to strengthen these strategic partnerships.
