Baku’s “Digital Twin” project presented at International Transport Forum

Azerbaijan was represented at the 12th Transport Statistics Meeting of the International Transport Forum (ITF), held at the headquarters of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) in Paris.

The event focused on the role of data and statistics in strengthening sustainability in the transport sector and shaping future-oriented policies in line with this year’s ITF summit theme, “Financing Sustainable Transport.”

Alish Ismayilov, a representative of Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Digital Development and Transport, emphasized the importance of more proactive and forward-looking approaches in transport policy. He noted that technology is a key tool in enhancing the sustainability of transport systems and managing uncertainties.

The meeting also provided information on data collection and integration within the Baku City “Digital Twin” project, the technological solutions used, as well as the application of the digital twin in transport planning, optimization, and infrastructure decision-making.
