Central Eurasia can become a regional space power, Fuad Aslanov, Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Azerbaijan’s Space Agency (Azercosmos) under the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport, stated at the Space Technology Conference (STC2025) in Baku, Report informs.

"Nearly 30 countries are represented at this conference, with the total number of participants exceeding 400. Yesterday we saw many fascinating presentations. It was very interesting for me to observe the development of sovereign space programs in Central Eurasia. I believe that today space is no longer a closed domain. We must absolutely strive to cooperate with international partners, because there is a lot of local knowledge. I believe that together with politicians, space agencies, industry and academic institutions, we can build a more advanced space ecosystem.

Today's sessions will focus more on the latest developments and technologies in Earth observation and telecommunications. Currently, a major challenge is connecting remote regions as digitalization increases. We will also discuss innovations in the space sector and the necessary investments to support national space programs. From our own experience, we know how important it is to collaborate with international partners, and we believe we can share our experience as well," he noted.
