The Azerbaijan-Slavic Youth Association (ASGA) held its first event in Minsk with the support of Azerbaijan’s Agency for State Support to Non-Governmental Organizations, as part of the “Azerbaijan-Belarus Youth Forum” project.

Prior to the forum, the Belarusian Republican Youth Union (BRSM) organized a tour introducing its wide-ranging activities.

Alexander Lukyanov, First Secretary of the BRSM Central Committee and Member of the Belarusian Parliament, opened the forum with a welcoming speech, highlighting Belarus-Azerbaijan relations and youth-oriented initiatives.

ASGA Chairman Sabuhi Abbasov emphasized the benefits of the forum for the youth of both countries, noting that Azerbaijan’s Agency for State Support to NGOs has always paid special attention to fostering international youth cooperation. He expressed hope that the forum would continue in Baku and serve as a new platform for bilateral youth dialogue.

Chairman of the “Reformist Youth” Public Union, Farid Shahbazli, highlighted the close and sincere friendship between the leaders of both countries, adding that the Azerbaijani people always remember with deep respect the Belarusian support provided to Azerbaijan during the 44-day Patriotic War.

Hajibey Heydarli, member of the Board of the Azerbaijan Press Council and editor-in-chief of the "Azxeber.com" website, stressed the importance of media collaboration among the youth of both countries.

Mushfig Huseynov, a young scientist and lecturer at Mingachevir State University, spoke about the prospects for scientific cooperation between Azerbaijani and Belarusian youth.
