“Azerbaijan has played a significant role in organizing the conference dedicated to the island of Guadeloupe. It has taken an important step in enabling a people affected by colonialism to raise their voices on the global stage,” Nicole Regent-Brisset, a representative of the secretariat of the International Movement for Reparations in Guadeloupe (MIR Guadeloupe), told journalists.
She added that the Memorandum signed in Azerbaijan today will serve as an inspiration for other nations to take similar action.
“Guadeloupe remains under French administration, yet fundamental needs - above all, human rights - are not being fulfilled. This reality compels us to raise our voices to the world,” Nicole Regent-Brisset stated.
