On July 21, Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Culture organized an event titled “Our Culture, Our Media: 150 Years Together” dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the National Press.
The event featured the screening of a video highlighting the attention and care shown by National Leader Heydar Aliyev and President Ilham Aliyev for the Azerbaijani media.
Adil Karimli, Minister of Culture, congratulated all media representatives and emphasized the historic role of “Akinchi” newspaper, founded 150 years ago by Hasan bey Zardabi, in shaping Azerbaijani media. He noted that media and culture have always progressed together, with media playing a vital role in cultural promotion.
The Minister underlined the continuous support for media development by both Heydar Aliyev and President Ilham Aliyev, as well as President Ilham Aliyev’s recent Order to widely celebrate the 150th anniversary of the National Press in Azerbaijan.
He also praised the role of media during and after the Patriotic War, highlighting its responsible coverage and contribution.
Media's role in promoting Azerbaijan’s rich culture was also emphasized, with hopes for its continued support in this field.
The event continued with a quiz, where participants answered questions in teams and individually. Winners received gifts.
The evening concluded with a concert by the choir of the International Mugham Center named after Jahangir Jahangirov, under the artistic direction of Honored teacher Tarana Yusifova.
