Baku Music Academy students perform at Gabala Festival

The 14th Gabala International Music Festival continues to captivate music lovers and visitors with engaging concert programs.

According to AZERTAC’s regional correspondent, a chamber music evening was held on July 26 at the Heydar Aliyev Congress Center in Gabala, featuring a vibrant performance by students of the Baku Music Academy named after Uzeyir Hajibeyli.

People’s Artist and Professor Zahra Guliyeva opened the concert, highlighting the achievements of the Academy. She noted that, as the first institution of higher music education in the East, the Academy has played a leading role in nurturing musical talent recognized around the world, and has made significant contributions to Azerbaijan’s national music culture.

Performances by students Aysun Mahmudzade (soprano), Ali Huseynli (piano), Ozcan Jabbari (violin), Rufat Mammadov (percussion), Zarrin Aliyeva (piano), Jalala Ismayilzade (cello), Rashad Abdullayev (flute), Gamar Karimli (violin), Anar Mammadov (percussion), Ilkin Mammadov (saxophone), and Hidayat Sadigbayli (piano) were met with enthusiastic applause.

The concert program featured works by Azerbaijani composers Uzeyir Hajibeyli, Tofig Guliyev, Firangiz Alizade, Hasan Rzayev, and Emil Afrasiyab, as well as pieces by international composers and original compositions by the Academy’s students.
