The glass carpet titled “Darvish” by Mahar Maharramov, a glass artist and a lecturer at the Faculty of Arts of Garabagh University, will be exhibited at the International Biennale of Glass (IBG) held in the Bulgarian capital city of Sofia.
The fifth edition of the IBG, which is set to take place from September 18 to November 30, aims to promote glass art on a global scale, showcase innovative techniques and approaches, and foster international creative exchange among artists.
Mahar Maharramov's masterpiece earned a spot in the exhibition, selected by a special commission that highly praised the work's technical and aesthetic merits.
Azerbaijan achieved a historic milestone by ranking among the top 50 countries for the first time, a success that serves as a gateway to international recognition of Azerbaijani glass art.
Mahar Maharramov's glass carpets have garnered attention beyond exhibitions, being presented at international scientific conferences and documented in scholarly articles.
