During a ceremony hosted by the Azerbaijani Embassy in Morocco at the residence of Ambassador Nazim Samadov in Rabat - held to mark the Year of the Constitution and Sovereignty in the Republic of Azerbaijan and attended by prominent Moroccan intellectuals, political and economic figures, community leaders, as well as foreign ambassadors and diplomats - AZERTAC’s correspondent in Rabat conducted an interview with Hassan Ammari, President of the Moroccan Association for Cooperation and Friendship between Peoples (AMCAP). Ammari spoke on the state and potential of Moroccan-Azerbaijani relations.

– What is your view of the Republic of Azerbaijan?

Today, I had the pleasure of attending a remarkable performance at the residence of the Ambassador of Azerbaijan, featuring two Azerbaijani musicians who came especially to participate in the World Sacred Music Festival in Fez. It was a truly exceptional experience.

Azerbaijan is a friendly nation with a rich history and a vibrant, diverse culture. It is a country that not only deserves to be visited but also to enjoy excellent relations with Morocco in areas such as tourism, culture, economy, and science. Azerbaijan is a beautiful country with many assets and immense potential, and it is truly worth discovering. We are honored to be present at this event hosted by the Azerbaijani Ambassador.

– How would you assess Moroccan-Azerbaijani relations?

Relations between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Republic of Azerbaijan are currently excellent and continue to grow, thanks in large part to the proactive efforts of Azerbaijan’s ambassador in Rabat. We are witnessing exceptional momentum and genuine commitment from both sides.

Significant steps have been taken in recent years, including the official visit of Her Royal Highness Princess Lalla Hasna to Azerbaijan, which was a key milestone. Furthermore, numerous official delegations from Azerbaijan have visited Morocco. These exchanges demonstrate the dynamism and upward trajectory of our bilateral relations.

– To what extent do Moroccan and Azerbaijani media contribute to strengthening these ties?

It is important to highlight the role of media in enhancing Moroccan-Azerbaijani relations. Both the Moroccan and Azerbaijani press have published numerous articles and editorials dedicated to this growing partnership.

In this context, I would like to commend the work of AZERTAC for its exceptional coverage. The presence of this Azerbaijani news agency in Morocco is a very positive development. It enables comprehensive coverage of all events and cooperative efforts between our two countries. I extend my congratulations to those responsible for its successful operations here.
