The Working Group for the Azerbaijani-Saudi Arabian Interparliamentary Relations of the Milli Majlis held an online meeting with the Interparliamentary Friendship Group with Azerbaijan in the Shura Council of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Fatma Yıldırım, Head of the Azerbaijan–Saudi Arabia Interparliamentary Working Group and Deputy Chair of the Natural Resources, Energy and Ecology Committee of the Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan, emphasized that the relations of friendship and cooperation between the two countries have been successfully developing both on prestigious international platforms and at the interparliamentary level.
She also touched on cooperation in the field of green energy and spoke about the work carried out in Azerbaijan in renewable energy. Fatma Yıldırım emphasized the importance of Azerbaijan’s “Khizi-Absheron” Wind Power Plant project and Azerbaijan’s cooperation with Saudi Arabia’s ACWA Power company.
Samad Seyidov, Chairman of the Milli Majlis Committee on International Relations and Interparliamentary Affairs, Könül Nurullayeva, Deputy Chair of the Youth and Sports Committee, and Ali Alshahrani, Head of the Saudi Arabia–Azerbaijan Interparliamentary Friendship Group of the Shura Council of Saudi Arabia, spoke about the importance of relations between Azerbaijan and Saudi Arabia and the prospects for future development.
The online meeting participants exchanged views on further deepening inter-parliamentary relations, promoting joint projects, and the importance of mutual visits.
