On June 24, as part of a visit to the People's Republic of China, the Azerbaijani delegation met with Cao Shumin, Minister of the National Radio and Television Administration of China (NRTA), and other senior officials of the institution.
During the meeting, Ismat Sattarov, Chairman of the Audiovisual Council, highlighted the importance of deepening cooperation between Azerbaijan and China in the audiovisual media sector, just as in other areas. He emphasized that the two countries are actively engaged in dialogue on audiovisual regulatory policies and noted the significance of technological exchange in this field, the adoption of innovative solutions such as artificial intelligence, big data, and 5G, as well as the joint development of the industry.
The Chairman also noted that establishing sustainable and effective relations between the regulatory bodies will strengthen the exchange of experience and contribute to coordinated activities.
Ahmad Ismayilov, Executive Director of the Media Development Agency, stressed the importance of further enhancing cooperation in the media field, highlighting key areas such as expanding institutional ties, implementing joint projects, applying modern technologies, training professional staff, and promoting mutual exchange of experience. He also stated that developing the media environment in line with global challenges, particularly through the exchange of approaches and mechanisms to combat misinformation, is among the main priorities of joint activity.
Then, the “Memorandum on Cooperation in the Field of Radio and Television Broadcasting between the Audiovisual Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the National Radio and Television Administration of the People’s Republic of China” was signed. The memorandum aims to enhance cooperation in radio and television broadcasting and accelerate the exchange of experience and personnel.
The Azerbaijani delegation visiting the People's Republic of China includes Ahmad Ismayilov, Executive Director of the Media Development Agency; Ismat Sattarov, Chairman of the Audiovisual Council; Kamran Hasanov, Head of the Media Sector of the Department for Work with Non-Governmental Organizations and Communication of the Presidential Administration; Vugar Aliyev, Chairman of the Board of the Azerbaijan State News Agency (AZERTAC); and Rufat Hamzayev, Executive Director of the AnewZ TV channel.
