Inauguration ceremony of "8 November" Power Plant in Azerbaijan`s Mingachevir in spotlight of Italian media outlets

The Italian ANSA , “Formiche”, “Corriere dell Economia”, “Energia Italia”, “Borsa Italiana”, “La Provincia Unica”, “Industria Italiana”, “Meteoweb”, “Agenzia Nova” media outlets published articles highlighting the inauguration ceremony of the "8 November" Power Plant in Mingachevir on June 24 with the participation of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, Minister for Enterprises and Made in Italy Adolfo Urso, and the Italian companies.

The articles mentioned the participation of the Italian and Chinese companies in the construction of the power plant.

According to the reports, Ansaldo Energia supplied four advanced AE94.3A gas turbines and four generators for this landmark installation. The AE94.3A gas turbine stands out for its outstanding operational flexibility, proven reliability and cost-effectiveness. The plant enables a significant reduction of CO2 emission and an important saving of natural gas consumption. This facility, which has an energy capacity of 2,000 megawatts, will reduce emissions into the air by 50 percent compared to the past. The capacity of the power plant is 1,880 megawatts.

The articles explored the cooperation between Italy and Azerbaijan, including “Ansaldo Energia” and “AzerEnergy”, recalling that the two companies signed a memorandum of understanding within the framework of COP29.

The media outlets also focused on the strategically important TAP pipeline and the importance of doubling the transmission capacity of the gas pipeline, and that Azerbaijani gas entering Europe through Italy is delivered to 10 European countries.
