Georgian President: We have outstanding friendly relations with Azerbaijan

The friendly and close cooperative relations between Azerbaijan and Georgia, built on trust, mutual respect, equality, and consideration of national interests, serve as an exemplary model, said Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili during his meeting with Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, who is visiting Tbilisi.

President Kavelashvili shared details about the meeting on the X platform.

He expressed gratitude to the Azerbaijani side for its unwavering support of Georgia’s territorial integrity and sovereignty. The discussion also covered prospects for deepening and further developing the existing friendship, partnership, and economic ties between the two countries across various sectors.

“I had a very productive meeting with Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister. As you know, we are strategic partners with Azerbaijan. We jointly participate in absolutely crucial projects and agree on many issues. We also plan to implement several interesting projects in the economic sphere. We always emphasize that our relations with Azerbaijan are noteworthy, and I am confident these relations will continue to strengthen and develop,” Mikheil Kavelashvili said regarding the outcome of the meeting.

President Kavelashvili further emphasized that Georgia remains firmly committed to establishing long-term, sustainable peace and stability in the South Caucasus and is ready to contribute to this process if necessary.
