Members of the Kenyan Senate Stewart Madzayo, Tabitha Mutinda Munene, and Hamida Ali Kibwana who are set to join the friendship group between the Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan and the Kenyan Senate, visited the Embassy of Azerbaijan in the country.

Ambassador Sultan Hajiyev briefed the senators on Azerbaijan’s development path based on the political course of National Leader Heydar Aliyev, as well as on the ongoing reconstruction and restoration efforts in the liberated territories.

He also provided an insight into Azerbaijan’s activities during its chairmanship of the Non-Aligned Movement, emphasizing the importance of parliamentary diplomacy, and the initiatives proposed regarding hosting COP29, as well as preparations for the World Urban Forum (WUF13).

The meeting also highlighted the historic significance of the Joint Declaration signed last week in Washington D.C by President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, President of the United States Donald Trump, and Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan in advancing peace and development between Azerbaijan and Armenia, and for the region as a whole.

The sides expressed their hope that the cooperation established between the Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan and the Senate of Kenya would make a positive contribution to the dynamic of rapidly developing relations between the two countries.
