As part of her working visit to Belém, Brazil, Sahiba Gafarova, Speaker of Azerbaijan’s Milli Majlis, attended the Leaders’ Summit held within the framework of the 30th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP30).

Mauro Vieira, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Federative Republic of Brazil, welcomed Speaker of the Azerbaijani Parliament Sahiba Gafarova in the Blue Zone.

The opening ceremony of the COP30 Leaders’ Summit then took place.

The speakers included Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, UN Secretary-General António Guterres, and the presidents and prime ministers of several other countries.

COP30 brought together heads of state and government, ministers, and heads of international organizations from around the world to discuss pressing issues and commitments related to climate change.

Azerbaijan’s Speaker of the Milli Majlis, Sahiba Gafarova, is participating in the event and is scheduled to address the Summit.
