A roundtable meeting on the Russian-Azerbaijani relations was held at the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO) of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
The event was organized at the initiative of the MGIMO Azerbaijan Club and with the support of the university administration.
The roundtable brought together MGIMO Rector Professor Anatoly Torkunov, Azerbaijani Ambassador to Russia Rahman Mustafayev, representatives of the Russian Foreign Ministry, members of the university’s teaching staff, Russian experts, and Azerbaijani students studying at MGIMO.
Addressing the event, Professor Torkunov praised the successful cooperation between MGIMO and Azerbaijani universities. He also highlighted the active involvement of Azerbaijani students in the scientific and public life of the university.
Ambassador Mustafayev then addressed the participants, providing an overview of the priority directions of Azerbaijan’s current domestic and foreign policy. He also highlighted the Azerbaijan–Armenia normalization process, as well as the steps undertaken by both sides to strengthen mutual trust.
The roundtable discussion continued with remarks by representatives of the Russian Foreign Ministry, MGIMO faculty members, and Russian political experts, followed by an exchange of views on various issues on the Azerbaijan–Russia agenda.
