“Iran attaches great importance to the development of relations with the Republic of Azerbaijan. Official Tehran is interested in ensuring lasting peace and tranquility in the South Caucasus, in the neighborhood of Iran,” said Esmaeil Baghaei, the official representative of the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, at a press conference held in Tehran on December 7.
He noted that neighborhood, historical, and cultural ties exist between Iran and Azerbaijan. “These factors contribute to the development of mutual relations.”
Stressing that his country strives to advance relations by strengthening diplomatic ties, Esmaeil Baghaei said that the Iranian Foreign Minister will visit Azerbaijan today and hold a series of meetings with officials to promote bilateral cooperation.
