Azerbaijani FM meets Arab Parliament President to discuss bilateral and regional issues

On February 11, Jeyhun Bayramov, Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan, met with a delegation led by Mohamed Ahmed Alyammahi, President of the Arab Parliament.

The discussions focused on Azerbaijan’s relations with Arab countries, the Arab League, and the Arab Parliament, as well as regional security in the Middle East, the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, and the peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia.

FM Jeyhun Bayramov emphasized that developing relations with Muslim countries, including Arab nations, remains a priority in Azerbaijan’s foreign policy. He noted that Azerbaijan consistently prioritizes regional stability, security, and peace, focusing on measures to prevent conflicts and wars.

The sides expressed solidarity regarding the current situation in the Gaza Strip. The meeting reiterated that Azerbaijan, in line with international law and UN Security Council resolutions, supports a “two-state” solution to the Palestinian issue. The importance of Azerbaijan’s mediation efforts in recent years was also highlighted.

Minister Bayramov provided detailed information on the past conflict, the Azerbaijan-Armenia peace process, and ongoing restoration and reconstruction in the liberated territories.

The officials also exchanged views on other matters of mutual interest.
