Azerbaijan, Slovenia explore inter-parliamentary ties and cooperation

At the invitation of the Slovenia-Azerbaijan inter-parliamentary working group, MPs of the Milli Majlis, head of the Azerbaijani-Slovenian inter-parliamentary working group Aghalar Valiyev and member of the group Heydar Asadov, visited Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia, on February 10-11.

As part of the visit, the MPs met with President of the Slovenian National Assembly Urška Klakočar Zupančič, Deputy PM and Minister of Foreign Affairs Tanja Fajon, Deputy Chair of the National Assembly’s Foreign Policy Committee Dušan Stojanović, and head of the Slovenia-Azerbaijan Interparliamentary Friendship Group Bojan Čebela.

During the meetings, the parties highly assessed the current state of cooperation between the two countries in various fields, including inter-parliamentary relations. They expressed satisfaction with the agreements reached during recent visits of parliamentary and government delegates.

Discussions also focused on the prospects for diversifying and developing bilateral relations.
