The Charter on Strategic Partnership between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the United States of America, signed during the visit of the U.S. Vice President’s visit to Azerbaijan, determines the long-term priorities of bilateral cooperation. The document creates a solid foundation for enhancing collaboration in energy, transport, investment, space industry, digital infrastructure, defense, security, and other areas,” Sahiba Gafarova, Speaker of Azerbaijan’s Milli Majlis, said, as she addressed the plenary session at the Azerbaijani Parliament.
“Aligned with common interests in peace, stability and sustainable development, the Charter reflects the parties' willingness to expand cooperation grounded in respect for sovereignty, territorial integrity, inviolability of borders and national interests,” the Speaker mentioned.
According to her, the elevation of relations to the qualitatively new level with one of world’s major powerful states was made possible thanks to the foresight and consistent policy pursued by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.
“We praise the US’, particularly President Donald Trump’s efforts to ensure peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan. The US’ support in ensuring lasting and just peace in the South Caucasus is exceptional and opens new opportunities for cooperation and economic integration,” Sahiba Gafarova added.
