Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister holds phone conversation with UK Minister of State

On March 9, Stephen Doughty, Minister of State for Europe, North America and Overseas Territories of the United Kingdom, held a telephone conversation with Jeyhun Bayramov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan.

The main topic of discussion between the sides was the increasing military escalation in the Middle East.

The UK side expressed serious concern regarding Iran’s drone attacks against Azerbaijan, emphasizing that the threat targeting the country’s civilian infrastructure and the security of its population is unacceptable.

Minister Jeyhun Bayramov stated that such actions further increase tensions in the region. He noted that all necessary measures are being taken to ensure Azerbaijan’s security.

During the phone conversation, the officials also exchanged views on issues on the bilateral agenda, as well as cooperation on regional matters.
