Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov held a telephone conversation with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Türkiye Hakan Fidan.
During the telephone conversation, the ministers exchanged views on the current security situation in the region and the increasing tensions. The risks arising from the latest developments amid the military escalation and their impact on regional stability were discussed.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov condemned the rocket attack carried out against the territory of Türkiye today and expressed support for the brotherly Turkish people.
The sides noted that further escalation of military tensions could lead to undesirable consequences and discussed possible steps toward de-escalation and the promotion of a dialogue environment.
Special emphasis was placed on the unacceptability of attacks against neighboring countries during confrontations and any actions directed against the territorial integrity of sovereign states.
The sides emphasized that the strategic alliance and brotherhood between Azerbaijan and Türkiye are of great importance in the current complex geopolitical situation. In this context, the importance of continuing mutual consultations and coordination between the two countries on regional issues was stressed.
During the telephone conversation, the foreign ministers also exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.
