On March 10, Jeyhun Bayramov, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with Nelsy Raquel Munar Jaramillo, newly appointed Ambassador of Colombia to Azerbaijan.
The ambassador presented a copy of her credentials to Minister Bayramov, who congratulated the diplomat on her appointment and wished her success in her diplomatic mission.
The meeting focused on enhancing bilateral political dialogue and developing cooperation in economy, trade, tourism, education, culture, humanitarian demining, and other areas. The sides also reviewed preparations for political consultations between the foreign ministries of both countries.
The officials hailed mutual support in areas such as peace, security, and sustainable development within the United Nations (UN), the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM), and other multilateral platforms.
They underscored the importance of the interparliamentary dimension, as well as reciprocal contacts and visits between the interparliamentary friendship groups, in fostering bilateral ties.
The meeting also touched upon the ongoing developments in the Middle East amid the ongoing war. According to the Colombian diplomat, her country’s Foreign Ministry has issued a statement regarding the escalation, stressing the importance of de-escalation of the conflict.
The sides also discussed other bilateral, as well as regional and international security matters of mutual concern.
