Azerbaijani, Lithuanian PMs meet in Baku

On April 9, Ali Asadov, Prime Minister of Azerbaijan, met with Inga Ruginienė, Prime Minister of the Republic of Lithuania.

The meeting discussed the current state and prospects of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Lithuania across the political, economic, transport, energy and other domains.

The sides hailed the successful development of relations between the two countries, highlighting the favorable opportunities for further expanding cooperation across areas of mutual interest.

During the meeting, particular emphasis was placed on enhancing cooperation in the economic sphere, increasing trade turnover and promoting investment opportunities. In this regard, the sides underscored the importance of the activity of the intergovernmental commission.

The officials assessed prospects for cooperation in the field of transport and logistics, while reviewing opportunities for increased interaction along the Middle Corridor and other international transport routes.

The discussions also focused on prospects for cooperation in the energy sector.

During the meeting, the officials also discussed collaboration within international organizations, highlighting the importance of advancing Azerbaijan's relations with the European Union.
