Khazar University expands cooperation with Lithuanian higher education institutions

Khazar University, in partnership with the Lithuanian Embassy in Azerbaijan, hosted an exhibition titled “Not All of Them: Portraits of War Refugees.”

The event served as a vital platform for fostering international collaboration, promoting humanitarian values, and raising public awareness regarding the human cost of conflict.

Inga Ruginienė, Prime Minister of the Republic of Lithuania, also attended the opening ceremony of the exhibition.

First, the guests met with the university leadership. The meeting was attended by Professor Hamlet Isakhanli, Chairman of the Board of Directors and Trustees of Khazar University, Rector Razia Isayeva, and Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Professor Mahammad Nuriyev.

Discussions focused on deepening academic and scientific ties between Khazar University and Lithuanian higher education institutions, specifically highlighting opportunities for joint research and academic exchange programs.

During the opening ceremony, Professor Hamlet Isakhanli, Razia Isayeva and Prime Minister Inga Ruginienė underlined that such initiatives play a crucial not only in cultural terms, but also in social and humanitarian terms. Speakers at the ceremony noted that such projects contribute to strengthening empathy, bringing the voices of war victims to a wider audience and enhancing international solidarity.

The exhibition showcased black-and-white photographs documenting the life stories of Ukrainian war refugees in Lithuania. These images captured more than the harsh consequences of the war, they highlighted the universal values such as human will, resilience and hope. Each photograph masterfully conveyed a unique life story, illustrating the profound impact of war on human destinies.
