On April 29, Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov held a phone call with his Korean counterpart Cho Hyun.
During the conversation, the ministers reviewed the current state and prospects of Azerbaijan–South Korea relations, as well as exchanged views on regional cooperation.
They highlighted the importance of Korean companies’ involvement in various projects implemented in Azerbaijan, noting the significant potential to further expand economic cooperation.
The sides mentioned that the Joint Commission on Economic Cooperation between the Governments of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Korea plays a crucial role in advancing bilateral ties.
They also emphasized the significance of strengthening the consultation mechanism between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and increasing the frequency of reciprocal visits.
Touching upon the cooperation within regional platforms, the parties reviewed ways to broaden ties across multiple sectors.
Minister Cho Hyun said the Republic of Korea welcomes Azerbaijan’s chairmanship of the UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP).
The conversation also covered other issues of mutual interest.
