In accordance with the instructions of President Ilham Aliyev, the Great Return of former internally displaced persons to the territories liberated from occupation continues.

According to Report, the families relocated to the village of Kangarli in the Aghdam district had previously been temporarily living in various districts of the country — mainly in dormitories, sanatoriums, and administrative buildings.

At this stage, 50 families, totaling 207 people, have been resettled in the village.

The returning residents expressed their gratitude to President Ilham Aliyev and First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva for the comprehensive state support. They also expressed appreciation to the valiant Azerbaijani Army, heroic soldiers, and officers who liberated the lands from occupation, and wished peace for the souls of the martyrs who died along the way.

Currently about 40,000 people live in Karabakh and Eastern Zangazur. In addition to former internally displaced persons, this number includes those working on the implementation of projects in the district, as well as those performing official duties in local branches of certain government agencies, and those employed in the now-revived sectors of healthcare, education, culture, tourism, industry, and energy.
