Azerbaijani national dances presented in Japan

A cultural event titled “Azerbaijani National Dance” was held in Wakayama Prefecture, Japan, hosted by the Wakayama International Exchange Center.

The event allowed local residents and foreigners living in the city to become closely acquainted with Azerbaijani culture.

In the first part of the event, guest speaker Minare Shukurova presented information about Azerbaijani national clothing, music, and dance art, using visual materials. This presentation, covering various elements of Azerbaijan’s cultural heritage, was warmly received by the participants.

In the second part, dance expert Lale Aslanur, joining online from Baku as the leader of the “Dance with Me” project, conducted a seminar on the “Mountains of Shusha” and “Yalli” dances. She discussed the history, meaning, and performance styles of these dances while answering participants’ questions.

In the third part, Minare Shukurova gave a presentation on Azerbaijan’s tea culture. Attendees enjoyed tasting Azerbaijani tea and took photos in traditional Azerbaijani attire. The event, which showcased various aspects of Azerbaijani culture, generated significant interest among participants and contributed to the development of intercultural connections.
