Director General of the Institute of Information Technology under the Ministry of Science and Education, Vice-President of ANAS, Academician Rasim Aliguliyev, represented Azerbaijan at the 36th (GA36) meeting of the GEANT Association General Assembly, held as part of the TNC25 international conference - the largest and most prestigious research and education networking conference - in Brighton, UK.
This high-level meeting, attended exclusively by official representatives of GEANT member countries, serves as a key decision-making platform for managing the Association's activities.
The participants discussed the 2024 annual report, the progress of the GN5-2 projects, new strategies for the GEANT Association, and key priorities for the upcoming period. Elections for the management structure were also held, and the admission of new members was approved.
In his remarks at the GA36 meeting, Academician Rasim Aliguliyev shared his insights on AzScienceNet’s activities within the GEANT platform, its contributions to regional cooperation, and Azerbaijan’s objectives for deeper integration with European science and education networks.
The meeting also explored future prospects for enhancing cooperation with GEANT, particularly in the development of science and education infrastructure.
