Azerbaijani judokas win five medals in three International tournaments

Azerbaijani judokas delivered an outstanding performance on the international stage, securing a total of five medals in three international tournaments held in Türkiye, Georgia, and Tajikistan.

Nihad Mamishov (66kg) and Farid Rzazade (50kg) won gold medals, securing victories at the Istanbul Junior European Cup 2026 and the Tbilisi "Millennium Team" Cadet European Cup 2026, respectively.

Adding to the tally, Aykhan Mirzazade (60kg) and Sadiq Isgandarli (66kg) both secured bronze medals at the Istanbul Junior European Cup 2026.

Azerbaijan concluded the day ranked 3rd overall among 27 competing countries, earning a distinguished 2nd place in the boys' category.

At the Cadet European Cup in Tbilisi, Farid Rzazade (50kg) claimed gold on the opening day by defeating Armenia’s Armen Matevosyan in the final.

Meanwhile, Rashid Mammadaliyev (73kg) secured Azerbaijan’s first medal at the Dushanbe Grand Slam 2026, winning bronze in a distinguished performance.
