Morocco came from behind to defeat Haiti 4-2 and secure their place in the Round of 32 in their final Group C match of the 2026 FIFA World Cup at Atlanta's Mercedes-Benz Stadium in the United States.

After struggling in their first two group matches, Haiti made a dream start. Making only their second World Cup appearance since debuting in 1974, they scored their third goal in FIFA World Cup history in the 10th minute when a Haitian cross was not intercepted and Lenny Joseph forced Moroccan goalkeeper Yassine Bounou into an own goal.

Morocco responded strongly and eventually found an equalizer in the 39th minute through Achraf Hakimi after a series of attacks had been repelled by the Haitian defense.

However, the scores remained level only briefly. Wilson Isidor restored Haiti's lead in the 43rd minute with a superb strike from outside the penalty area.

Morocco responded again before the break, with Ismael Saibari scoring in first-half stoppage time to make it 2-2.

Both teams pushed for the decisive goal after halftime, but it was Morocco who gained the upper hand. Soufiane Rahimi capitalized on a scramble inside the box to put his side ahead in the 78th minute.

After a lengthy VAR review, Morocco added a fourth goal in the 89th minute through Gessime Yassine, sealing victory and qualification for the knockout stage.

Morocco finished second in the group and advanced to the Round of 32, while Haiti ended bottom and were eliminated from the tournament.
