Azerbaijan’s Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov met with Marta Kos, the European Commissioner for Enlargement.
During the meeting, they highlighted with satisfaction that the European Union is one of Azerbaijan’s key foreign trade partners, with mutual economic relations steadily developing. Successful cooperation in the fields of energy and investment between Azerbaijan and the EU was noted. They emphasized that there are significant prospects for further advancing collaboration in the transport sector.
The meeting included an exchange of views on the draft financing agreement for a support project between Azerbaijan and the European Commission, focusing on mine clearance, water resource management, and sustainable development of the transport sector.
The parties discussed investment initiatives under the EU’s new global connectivity strategy, the “Global Gateway” initiative, covering areas such as energy, digital economy, transport, private sector development, and other fields.
