Azerbaijan, Kingdom of Netherlands review joint research opportunities on logistics corridors and innovative financing instruments

Vusal Gasimli, Executive Director of the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication (CAERC), met with Caroline Ramaekers, Head of the Eastern Europe and Central Asia Division at the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Rebel Rijper, Senior Advisor to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands; Marianne de Jong, Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Azerbaijan; Johannes Kirpestein, Deputy Head of Mission; and Shahla Balakishiyeva, Senior Policy Officer of the Embassy.

The meeting focused on Azerbaijan’s socio-economic development agenda, particularly issues related to green energy and climate resilience, digital transformation, the Middle Corridor, transit transportation, expanding export potential, and public–private sector partnerships.

The guests were also briefed on the activities carried out within the framework of “Azerbaijan 2030: National Priorities for Socio-Economic Development” and the “Socio-Economic Development Strategy of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2022–2026.”

The Dutch side emphasized the importance of bilateral exchange of experience in the fields of agro-innovation, water resource management, sustainable food systems, the circular economy, and renewable energy.

The sides also reviewed opportunities for developing joint research and initiatives on integration into regional and global value chains, logistics corridors, and innovation financing instruments.

The meeting concluded with presentation of the book "Middle Corridor", prepared within the partnership between the CAERC and the OECD.
