Azerbaijan, Israel discuss energy and trade cooperation

The 4th meeting of the Joint Commission between the Governments of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the State of Israel was held during the visit of the Azerbaijani delegation, led by Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov, to Israel.

The meeting focused on cooperation in energy, trade, investment, agriculture, and other areas of mutual interest.

Addressing the meeting, Minister of Economy and co-chair of the Joint Commission Mikayil Jabbarov emphasized that Azerbaijan considers its cooperation with Israel strategically important and is keen to further expand relations.

“Our relations in economic, cultural, humanitarian, and other domains have developed dynamically over the past three decades. There is an effective investment partnership between our countries. Currently, 125 commercial entities with Israeli capital operate in Azerbaijan across industry, agriculture, construction, trade, and services. Azerbaijani and Israeli companies actively collaborate in finance, food technologies, agriculture, and healthcare,” Mikayil Jabbarov underlined.

Zeev Elkin, Minister of Finance of Israel and co-chair of the Azerbaijan-Israel Joint Intergovernmental Commission, highlighted the importance of the meeting for further strengthening bilateral relations and exploring opportunities in new sectors. He noted that discussions within the Joint Commission are essential for achieving mutually beneficial outcomes in various areas.

The meeting also covered bilateral relations, cooperation in energy, trade, investment, agriculture, transport, digitalization, and other fields of mutual concern.

The meeting concluded with the signing of the Protocol of the 4th Meeting of the Joint Commission between the Governments of Azerbaijan and Israel.
