Sports festival marking National Leader Heydar Aliyev's 102nd anniversary held in German town of Barleben REPORTAGE

A sports festival marking the 102nd anniversary of National Leader Heydar Aliyev was held in the German town of Barleben, co-organized by the Heydar Aliyev World Boxing Committee and the Diaspora Boxing League.

 

The festival, which created a festive mood for residents, was attended by hundreds of residents from Magdeburg, the capital of the German federal state of Saxony-Anhalt, and other surrounding towns. The festival, organized to promote family values and contribute to the mental and physical development of children and youth, brought together parents as well as their children actively participating in quizzes, exciting attractions and different games. The event also included various dance programs organized around the stage, with cheerful music, national and modern rhythms adding the festival a special color.

 

One of the memorable parts of the festival was the exemplary training of professional boxers. The Heydar Aliyev World Boxing Committee (WBCA) was founded in 2012. Along with Azerbaijani boxers, athletes from all countries worldwide compete for this highest award. Launched with the support of the State Committee on Work with Diaspora, aims to consolidate Azerbaijani athletes living in the world and achieve hoisting of tricolour flag of Azerbaijan on the international arena.

 

Speaking to journalists, Yashar Niftaliyev, head of the Heydar Aliyev World Boxing Committee and Diaspora Boxing League, emphasized that the central idea of the festival, which is excellently organized, is National Leader Heydar Aliyev’s boundless love for children and youth, as well as the protection of their health.

 

Along with members of the Azerbaijani community, volunteers - city residents also actively involved in the organization of the festival. Sharing her impressions, one of the volunteers, Milena Borsten, emphasized that she always participates with great pleasure in organization of events commemorating National Leader Heydar Aliyev.

 

Abrina, who joined the festival with her daughter Lina, underlined that she is aware of Azerbaijan, even though she has never visited the country. Sharing her impressions about this magnificent event, Albrina said: “The festival organizers created excellent conditions for children to rest and play in various competitions and attractions. The festival is magnificent.”

 

A Chinese participant, also shared her impressions on the festival, saying that the festival is excellently, and not only children, but also adults have every opportunity to have a lot of fun and productive time.
