Azerbaijan’s Honored Artist performs in Turkiye’s quake-hit region

Azerbaijan's Honored Artist and pianist Turan Manafzade, together with the Seven Beauties music ensemble, performed in Hatay, the Turkish province most severely affected by the February 2023 earthquakes.

A concert program featuring Tural Manafzade was held at the ancient EXPO Kesicik amphitheater in the Antakya region.

Manafzade began her performance with words of condolence to the families and loved ones of those who lost their lives in the devastating earthquake in Türkiye.

Residents of the province – where recovery efforts from the large-scale disaster are still underway – expressed their gratitude to the Azerbaijani artist for her moral support. Her performance was met with resounding applause.

As part of her visit to the disaster zone, Turan Manafzade also visited the Natural Sciences High School in the Payas district of Hatay, where she provided the music classroom with all the necessary items, including musical instruments.

She also participated in the inauguration of a classroom named in her honor, alongside members of the Seven Beauties ensemble.

Turan Manafzade addressed the school’s students and faculty, expressing her hope that the establishment of the music classroom would help the younger generation living in the disaster zone fulfill their aspirations.
