The opening ceremony of the Azerbaijani Literature Section was held at the National Library of Albania in Tirana.
Prior to the event, Director of the Azerbaijan National Library Karim Tahirov met with Director of the Albania National Library Piro Misha. The meeting discussed the implementation of the cooperation memorandum signed between the national libraries of the two countries and specific proposals were reviewed.
Opening the event, Piro Misha emphasized that cultural cooperation between the two countries has developed significantly in recent years. He stated that the Azerbaijani Literature Section created at the Albania National Library serves to strengthen friendship and cultural ties between the two countries. This section is not only a book collection but also plays the role of a spiritual and intellectual bridge between our peoples. Such projects create conditions for deepening mutual understanding and respect between our countries and provide an important platform for young generations to become acquainted with each other’s cultural heritage.
Piro Misha stressed that the Albania National Library plans to organize events and reading days related to Azerbaijani literature in the future, as well as continue exchanges between writers and scholars of the two countries.
Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to Albania Anar Huseynov noted that the newly opened section is of great importance in presenting our country’s culture. He stated that Azerbaijani literature is not only a reflection of our national culture but also a valuable contribution to humanity’s common spiritual treasury. The Azerbaijani Literature Section created in Albania serves as an important tool for promoting our country’s culture and broadening the worldview of the younger generation.
Director of the Azerbaijan National Library Karim Tahirov stated that this section is of great significance in showcasing the richness and diversity of Azerbaijani literature. It is not only a book collection but also a window opening to Azerbaijani culture and history for Albanian readers. He recalled that on October 7, 2022, during the 8th Baku International Book Fair, a permanent corner of the Albania National Library was opened at the Azerbaijan National Library and a Memorandum on mutual cooperation was signed between the two libraries. Tahirov noted that this cooperation is now yielding real results, and the creation of the Azerbaijani Literature Section is of great importance as a continuation of these relations.
Participants then visited the Azerbaijani Literature Section and explored the displayed books and publications.
At the end of the event, the Azerbaijani delegation toured the Albania National Library.
