Azerbaijani delegation familiarizes with Singapore’s healthcare system

A delegation led by Zaur Aliyev, Chairman of the Board of Azerbaijan’s State Agency on Mandatory Health Insurance, visited Singapore.

As part of the visit, the delegation met with Koh Poh Koon, Singapore’s Senior Minister of State for Health and Manpower.

Zaur Aliyev highlighted the implementation of Azerbaijan’s mandatory health insurance system, reforms undertaken in the healthcare sector and the financing mechanisms. He noted that the country's mandatory health insurance ensures that the population has unimpeded access to medical services, regardless of their financial situation.

Senior Minister Koh Poh Koon hailed the interest shown in his country's healthcare experience. He informed about the progress achieved in Singapore in the field of health policy formulation, regulation, financing of medical services and the application of digital innovations.

The delegation also met with Mei Peng Tan, Senior Deputy Director at Central Provident Fund Board. She informed about the MediSave, MediShield Life, and MediFund programs available to cover the population's medical expenses.

The delegation also visited Synapxe HeatlhTech Agency under the Ministry of Health of Singapore. It was noted that Synapxe operates in the areas of building the country’s digital health infrastructure, providing IT systems, organizing patient-oriented services and enhancing information security.

Zaur Aliyev, as President of the Azerbaijan Swimming Federation (ASF), also participated at the World Aquatics congress held in Singapore.

Healthcare
