The Azerbaijani Embassy in Brazil has arranged an official reception on the occasion of May 28 - Independence Day.
The event brought together heads and employees of the diplomatic missions accredited in Brazil, representatives of the Brazilian federal government and state officials, members of the National Congress, public and political figures, academic and student staff, and representatives of the media outlets.
The official reception began with the performance of the National Anthems of both countries.
Highlighting the 107-year history of Azerbaijan’s independence, Ambassador Rashad Novruz noted that the country has achieved great progress in the political, economic and social fields after the restoration of its independence, and has been further developed thanks to the wise policy and strategic vision of President Ilham Aliyev, and has become the leading country in the region with its active participation in regional and international issues, including with its efforts to promote peace, stability and cooperation.
Addressing the event, Laudemar Aguiar, Deputy Foreign Minister of Brazil, highlighted the further expansion and upward dynamics of relations between the two countries over the past years.
Then, a video highlighting the history of Azerbaijan's independence and the efforts to protect and further strengthen its independence was screened.
