Azerbaijan and Bangladesh discuss further deepening of bilateral relations

Azerbaijan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov met with Touhid Hossain, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, on the sidelines of the 51st Session of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers in Istanbul.

During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on existing bilateral and multilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Bangladesh, as well as prospects for future cooperation.

Both parties emphasized the importance of high-level contacts, reciprocal visits, inter-institutional cooperation, and political consultations in advancing bilateral ties.

The discussion also covered opportunities to expand cooperation in trade, education, and digital governance, as well as the potential for waiving visa requirements for holders of diplomatic and service passports. The ministers underlined the importance of strengthening engagement between relevant government institutions.

Both ministers reaffirmed their commitment to further deepening Azerbaijan–Bangladesh relations and exploring new avenues for collaboration. They also stressed the importance of continued mutual support within international organizations.

Regional and international issues of mutual interest were also discussed.
