Azerbaijan’s CEC delegation to observe parliamentary elections in Kyrgyzstan

An Azerbaijani delegation led by Mazahir Panahov, Chairman of the Central Election Commission (CEC), visited Kyrgyzstan at the invitation of Tynchtyk Shaynazarov, Chair of the Central Commission for Elections and Referenda of the Kyrgyz Republic, to monitor the snap parliamentary elections scheduled to be held in the country on November 30 as an international observer.

The CEC representatives are expected to familiarize themselves with the general preparation processes for the snap parliamentary elections before voting day, as well as observe the voting procedures at polling stations in the capital on election day.

The CEC delegation will also attend the second meeting of the Advisory Platform of the Central Electoral Authorities of the OTS Member States to be held in Bishkek on November 28. The event will feature discussions on the development of institutional cooperation in the field of election management and opportunities for further expanding relations.

During the visit, Azerbaijan’s CEC Chairman Mazahir Panahov will meet with his Kyrgyz counterpart, as well as with the heads of the election management bodies of the OTS member countries, the leaders of international organizations participating in election observation, and other officials. The meeting will discuss the prospects for further deepening inter-agency relations, new cooperation opportunities in various areas related to elections, and issues of mutual interest.

The CEC representatives are also represented in the international observation missions of the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic States, the Organization of Turkic States, the OSCE/ODIHR, and the Commonwealth of Independent States during the extraordinary parliamentary elections in Kyrgyzstan.
