Azerbaijan, Malaysia explore prospects for enhancing ICT cooperation

A delegation of Azerbaijan, comprising members of the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport, and AZCON Holding, visited Malaysia.

The visit took place as part of the agreement reached between Rashad Nabiyev, Azerbaijan Minister of Digital Development and Transport, and Fahmi Fadzil, Malaysia’s Minister of Communications, on the margins of the World Telecommunications Development Conference (WTDC).

The visit aimed to provide mutual experience sharing in digital transformation, ICT, cybersecurity, AI, 5G, data centers, and innovations, as well as enhancing bilateral cooperation in the abovementioned areas.

During the visit, the Azerbaijani delegation held meetings with members of several Malaysian institutions, including the Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovation, the Ministry of Communications, the Ministry of Digital, the National Cyber Security Agency, the Communications and Multimedia Commission, the National AI Office, the Telekom Malaysia, the Digital Nasional Berhad, the Cybersecurity Malaysia, the Institute of Microelectronic Systems, the National Information Dissemination Centre. The meetings discussed cooperation in digital infrastructure development, 5G application, innovations ecosystem, AI solutions, and cybersecurity.

The Azerbaijani officials also visited Malaysia’s Perak and Penang states, the country’s leading states in ICT sector. The visit included meetings with the officials from Digital Penang, Digital Perak, and Malaysia Investment Development Authority in Penang.
