On April 23, Ramin Mammadov, Chairman of the State Committee on Affairs with Religious Associations of Azerbaijan, met with Mojtaba Demirchilou, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Azerbaijan.
The meeting covered religious cooperation between Azerbaijan and Iran, future prospects for bilateral ties, and regional stability.
Ramin Mammadov stressed the government’s strong commitment to protecting and developing moral values, noting that preserving religious and cultural heritage, passing it on to future generations, and reinforcing traditions of tolerance are key priorities of Azerbaijan’s state policy.
Ambassador Mojtaba Demirchilou highlighted the historical, religious, and cultural bonds between Iran and Azerbaijan, stressing the need to further strengthen them. He expressed his appreciation to President Ilham Aliyev for Azerbaijan’s stance during recent developments and noted that the humanitarian aid and moral support provided by Azerbaijan are of significant importance and highly valued.
The meeting also discussed cooperation in religious and academic research.
