Participants of the 6th Summer Camp of Diaspora Youth, dedicated to the “Year of the Constitution and Sovereignty,” visited the city of Shusha.
AZERTAC’s regional correspondent reports that after visiting the Isa Spring, the participants assembled at the historical and spiritually significant Jidir Duzu plain, as they were informed about the geographical location of Shusha, the history of the Jidir Duzu plain, and the social role it has played since ancient times.
The participants also visited the Yukhari Govhar Agha Mosque, the bullet-riddled monuments of prominent Azerbaijani figures such as Khurshidbanu Natavan, Bulbul, and Uzeyir Hajibeyli at Shusha’s Central Square, where they were briefed on the city’s history, its nearly 30-year-long Armenian occupation, and the ongoing restoration efforts.
The guests then toured the house of Khurshidbanu Natavan, the “Khan Gizi” spring, the Walls of Shusha Fortress.
